We “built” a trellis for the squash patch.

  • Took a trip out to Abbotsford to a tractor supply (Buckerfields https://buckerfields.ca)
  • There we bought cattle panel and t-bars to make a trellis for the squash. We found this through a Google search of squash trellis options then watched a few different Youtube videos to learn how to transport and install this. We chose this option for the trellis because it doesn’t rust, so it’s reusable forever (unlike wood, which will eventually rot). We loved the simplicity. One note was we budgeted to have 2-3 of these, as the videos we watched estimated a cost of ~$30 panel. The price we paid was $98, so triple what we expected. Ergo we purchased 1 with the budgeted amount.
  • The size of the panel is 52” x 16”
  • We (well actually just Stef) pounded the t-bars into the ground with a mallet
  • Arched the panel between the t-bars and secured with wire
