Summer 2022 Highlights – Top 20 highlights
- Working together with S as a team to build raised planters and grow a food garden for the shelter in our community.
- Work-life integration through the whole season and doing meaningful work around the exploration schedule, and the ability to rest and regenerate when my body and spirit needed it.
- Revisiting Deception Pass where S had childhood memories of camping. Continuing the joy of Puget Sound by co-creating our own memories of the beach and forest.
- Hosting our first Filipino family gathering and diving into animal-free versions of dishes that tell the story of history and culture of my ancestors. Bringing together generations – my nieces M&M and my parents to keep alive food from my Nanay (lumpia & empanada).
- Regenerative and deep work time with my dear friend & business partner in the gorgeous settings of Okanagan sanctuary.
- Dim sum and rooftop adventures, bringing together my favourite families at our home.
- First wedding anniversary and creating a tradition of S and I celebrating in Campbell River and our time with the seals and eagles in Desolation Sound.
- K crew happy hours with deer and quails running around in the garden.
- Time with my sisters and niece for a ladies getaway that included time to play, relax and dive into meaningful conversations.
- Kayaking on Face Lake at Mile High Resort and connecting with crazy loons and a swimming deer.
- Welcoming a best friend’s baby into this world! So thrilled to have baby Lia in the world.
- An afternoon of floating down the lazy river in Penticton with my bae, losing a shirt and almost accidentally petting a snake.
- Dinners on warm evenings at the family house.
- Getting a gorgeous watercolour wedding tattoo of my bouquet & flower crown to commemorate last year’s marriage.
- Buying pounds and pounds of fresh Okanagan fruit and making jam with Dad to share with lots of our loved ones.
- T.O.T.S. beach trip to our private island. Chill, games, cooking and friendship.
- Bella Pacifica final camp trip of the year, marked with stunning colourful sunset views from our campsite and wandering the rainforest of Naa’waya’sum ecological park.
- Our rooftop garden and harvests. Year 1 of our food garden. Start of a new journey.
- Cuddles with our cats and looking forward to come back to them in between our trips. They make our house a home. Also, gratitude for a mother in law who loves them so much and put a lot of energy and time into caring for them while we paraded around the Pacific Northwest. The nerve we have!
- Feeling blessed and present for all the beauty that we’ve experienced this summer and grateful for the land on which we live.
