We already had our first harvest of the elm oysters. We used a recipe we found on the internet and the mushroom dish turned out delicious! I found some of the pieces chewy, so I wonder if we let the mushrooms get overripe. But overall, we’re calling it a success!
As for the lion’s mane… still nothing in sight. Our experience has been that we don’t see significant (or any) growth for the first few days and then BOOM! It feels like the mushrooms explode over the span of a couple days. Watching the growth is fascinating and incredible. Unfortunately we have yet to see any fruiting bodies on the lion’s mane.
