Afternoon on the shores of a beach near Courtenay on Vancouver Island (traditional territory of the K’ómoks First Nation).
In this moment, I experience:
White, yellow and orange flowers swaying
Tall Douglas fit with rough bark
A sailboat with triangle sails and navy blue trim
A wooden bench under a red alder tree
Snow capped mountains in the distance
Gentle waves on the pebble shore
Buzzing insects around the grassy dunes
Chirping from different birds in trees
Faraway sounds of humans in easy conversation
Fine sand between my toes
Sun kissing my warm skin
Ever so soft breeze from the ocean
Briny air
Pungent seaweed
Floral notes on the tongue
