Things are really heating up in Vancouver. Here’s where we’re at with the Lookout Food Garden.

  • A lot of the lettuce never took but it looks like we’re finally getting some lettuce with seeds I sowed a few weeks ago. On lots of the garden videos we’ve heard how lettuce is one of the easiest veggies to grow. Alas, we apparently are cursed with the lettuce after many plant less seeding attempts.
  • A lesson that I already learned with your parents garden is the spinach bolted but I’m letting it go to seed because flowers are pretty. We can try again closer to fall when the days are cooler, and spinach grows better.
  • The chives aren’t taking off. Or maybe these are leeks?
  • The beans look and they look amazing. And all the plants that I looked at. have little bean pods coming out of them now. They’re not near harvesting; they’re still quite small. But I’m just really proud of out of the three gardens the beans are growing in at least one of them.
  • Not many but there’s some beets. Definitely more than what we have at the house.
  • We transplanted some thyme and oregano from our garden.
  • The peas they’re reaching the top good so I’m not sure what to do with those again. Do they just get to a point where they stop climbing?
  • Zucchini. This one we grew from seed at our place and brought it over and it’s looking happy and it’s new home.
  • Bell peppers were replanted last week by S. One of the later seeds that we started
  • Tomato we grew from seed is growing larger.
  • Catnip and basil finally starting to really pop.
